SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "GROWING STORM" - Shaun J. Wright & Alinka /// "FADE TO ME" - Hannah Holland feat. Josh Caffe

2 imminent underground house gems on the horizon guys!

The always reliable pair of Twirl Records house magicians Shaun J. Wright & Alinka have dropped a brand new new gem for Allergy Season's charity release "Physically Sick". The pulsating "Growing Storm" is one of 42 exclusive tracks recorded for this honourable protest compilation (showing the middle finger to fascism, bigotry, violence and demagoguery) which also includes new works by Yaeji, Umfang and Alexis Blair Penney.

Buy it now on Bandcamp!

To top it all off we have a completely new hypnotic deep house collaboration by Hannah Holland featuring Josh Caffe which is just out now via Crosstown Rebels. That's your eerily beautiful, half-whispered club noir moment sorted for this Saturday.

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING: "ALEPPO" - K Á R Y Y N

I first stumbled upon the enigmatic K Á R Y Y N reading about Björk's inspirations in the Guardian last autumn. The Syrian-Armenian-American artist is paying a hauntingly elegant homage to Aleppo, her childhood hometown with this uncompromising slice of electronica, echoing some of FKA Twigs' most ethereal aural escapades. "Aleppo" comes from K Á R Y Y N's double A-side single "Quanta 1" and the song is accompanied by VHS home footage from her time in the Syrian city. The singer's breathy vocals, combined with the minimal, unnerving production, create an unforgettable atmosphere. K Á R Y Y N lists Estonian composer Arvo Pärt, Kendrick Lamar and Lebanese diva Fairouz as her biggest musical influences in this interview for Phoenix Magazine.

SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "GIVE ME A REASON" - Ibibio Sound Machine

This time last month I was praising Ibibio Sound Machine's "The Pot is on Fire" heralding the release of their 2nd LP "Uyai". Now the Nigerian-British collective is electrifying world music fans with "Give Me a Reason", not only their finest single to date but also one of the greatest dance singles of the past couple of years! This unstoppable amalgamation of throbbing afro-beats, West-African funk, 80's synths, and electro is sure to keep you dancefloor-happy. What a truly vibrant sonic explosion! Dare not to dance!

"Uyai" is out March 3, 2017 on Merge Records.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "HIGH" - Little Dragon

Every next artistic direction Little Dragon choose to take, always promises a musical thrill. The arrival of the Swedish quartet's much anticipated new single "High" is nothing short of a sonic wonder. The mellifluous "High" is their first new material since 2014, not forgetting their collaborations with Billion One and ODESZA the following year. The surprisingly mellow song is a sublimely arranged downtempo synth-pop gem with Yukimi Nagano delivering yet another impeccable vocal performance. Check out Little Dragon's first 2017 tour dates HERE!

Soulé is a singer/songwriter based in Dublin. Her latest single "Good Life" is a joyful Saturday night ready Garage gem echoing some of the most memorable 90's Diva House moments. Instantly catchy, effortlessly cool and refreshingly unpretentious. If only Disclosure's 2nd LP sounded as good...
