SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: "BAD GIRLS" - M.I.A.

M.I.A.'s brand new single "Bad Girls" which heralds her 4th album to come out later on this year, stole my heart and my ears instantly with its breakthrough production, delicious oriental samples and haunting melody. The world premiere follows this Friday back-2-back with Madonna's "Give Me All Your Luvin'" which features Miss Arulpragasam as well. "Bad Girls", next to "Bucky Done Gun", "Bamboo Banga", "XXXO", stands up among some of her most accomplished works to date. Big long loud YEEEEAAAAAAAY for album no 4!!!

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "PRISONER OF LOVE (ELIOT'S 1987 MIX)" - Jessica 6 feat. Antony Hegarty /// "FADE AWAY" - Electric Youth

I've got 2 phenomenal retro-futuristic take-on's 1980's sounds for you today. Miss Nomi Ruiz teaming up with her Jessica 6 crew with Antony Hegarty in a brand mix of their anthemic "Prisoner of Love". Eliot's 1987 mix is just uncanny, are we sure this song was actually released last year and not in the 80's? Following with the future 80's trend we have Electric Youth's B-Side to their super-catchy "Right Back To You".

SHREM'S VINTAGE CORNER: "GOPHER" + "BABALU" - Yma Sumac

Shrem's vintage corner presents Peruvian legend, exotica pioneer and owner of an extreme vocal range, spanning 5 octaves - the great Yma Sumac...

CHOONS OF THE DAY: "LOOK AROUND THE CORNER" - Quantic and his Combo Barbaro feat. Alice Russell + "FEELING GOOD"

Tru Thoughts were among my most beloved record labels for years now. This however brings my admiration for this Brighton formed label to another level. Miss Alice Russell teams up for this explosion of good vibes with maestro Quantic and together they sound as delicious as Minnie Riperton from one her finest albums. Listen to their heavenly reinterpreation of "Feeling Good", the previous collaboration of the pair, below. Pure sonic bliss...

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: "STUPID HOE" - Nicki Minaj

Nicki Minaj's latest video wasn't on Youtube for a whole week yet and it's already been viewed over 13 million times! I must admit as much as I was always a fan of her ridiculously OTT style I remained equally unimpressed about her music which was lacking a bit of flamboyance and original ideas. This cannot be however said about "Stupid Hoe" which is shaping to be the most bonkers single to take worldwide charts by storm... Fantastic video too! P.S. Think I'm finally getting a tad bit excited about Miss Minaj collaborating with Madonna...

One of the main acts from the ultra-cool Italians Do It Better - Desire, becomes increasingly popular since their song "Under Your Spell" was recently used for the soundtrack to "Drive". Here are two more tunes by the band from their only LP so far which enjoyed a lot of delayed attention thanks to Winding Refn's movie.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "RETURN TO ME" - B.C. & Delivery

I just realised I have never given "Return To Me" a proper separate post apart from listing it among my Crème de la crème tunes last June. Now that the boys from B.C. released their multi-eclectic EP "B.C. Kingdom" which includes their Mantronix sampling "Go Ah!" I've been praising for the past few weeks, it's perfect time to give this house stomper some more coverage. As we read on SCION's site '"Return to Me" is a collaboration between B.C. (a pair of young vocalists) and Delivery (a pair of emerging producers), creating a quartet of young Los Angeles artists with currently few credits to their names, but all destined for attention.'
