SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "FOREIGN LANGUAGE" - Flight Facilities feat. Jess

New roller disco anthem in the making! After Flight Facilities' effortlessly cool debut single "Crave You" I didn't expect them to drop another smash hit so quickly! Delicate, summery and so adorable! Enjoy

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "DESIRE" - Eli Escobar feat. Nomi Ruiz /// "FREAK THE NIGHT" - Jessica 6

What a fabulously exciting year for all the Nomi Ruiz devotees! Jessica 6's "See The Light" is easily one of this year's best albums, full of gems like the one below. They're just putting on finishing touches to "Prisoner of Love" video by the way... Then we have "Desire" a house extravaganza with clubland darling Eli Escobar now available with a tribute video below. Check out all the remixes HERE. And the fun doesn't stop with Beni revealing tracklist for his debut album coming up in September which opens with a track called "Sway" featuring our glamorous Nomi again... Let's freak the night away!

CHOON OF THE DAY: "BLOWN MINDED" - Young Galaxy + "OPEN YOUR HEART" (Madonna cover)

I call songs like this melodies from heavens above... "Blown Minded" simply is mind-blowingly good! And since the sun is shining this morning generously I have a juicy bonus for you too, Vancouver band's wonderfully Kraftwerkian rendition of Madonna's 1987 smash hit "Open Your Heart". Now how nice does this sound, no wonder some musos classify Young Galaxy's music as dream pop. Dreamy indeed...

CHOON OF THE DAY: "WHITE ELEPHANT" - Ladytron

After weeks of anticipation Ladytron have finally released their video for "White Elephant" the first single announcing their 5th studio album "Gravity the Seducer". This wondrous video goes really well with the enigmatic atmosphere and exuberant production of the song. I wonder will the quartet release any remixes of the song anytime soon. As much as I adore their upbeat electro gems, their downtempo eerie symphonies for synths take me to a different world... Shrem = massive Ladytron fan since early days :-)

GET IN2 THE RARE GROOVES: ENCORE - Cheryl Lynn

Cheryl Lynn's summery "Encore" (aside from this rather cringey video) stands solid among the juiciest of the 1980's soul grooves.

CHOON OF THE DAY: "TROUBLE" - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs + Chad Valley & Lapalux Remixes

I have fallen in love with this video only yesterday. And what a cool name for a band too! For all of you who enjoy indie hipsters from Human Life, PNAU and Empire of The Sun.

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: CRYSTALLINE (Video Premiere!) - Björk

The most inspirational and the most unclassifiable of all artists on this planet returns in a smashing form. And this time she teams up with long term video collaborator Monsieur Michel-Genius-Gondry for the video of the first single taken from her 7th studio album "Biophilia" coming out in September. What a phenomenal mélange of extraordinary souls. The end of the song sounds a bit like Aphex Twin and Alec-Atari Teenage Riot-Empire messing around with the original at some house party somewhere in Reykjavík... I'm in awe...

P.S. Don't forget to vote for your favourite Björk album in the up right corner poll.

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "THE MOVE" - Proper Heat

While anticipating some proper heat in Ireland this summer... This song could potentially become either very addictive or eventually very annoying... I can't actually remember whether I have ever had a chance to post any music from Lithuania before but here it is some nu disco vibes from Vilnius, taste it for yourself!

CHOON OF THE DAY: "Conte d'été (Afrofunk Version)" - Exotica

Some fresh sunshine beats made en France. Kitsuné scores another gem of a single this year, and Mademoiselle Clara Cometti scores another delightful song on her account after her collaboartion with Munk a few months ago. Veux-tu danser?

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "FUNKY DAME" - Greatest Hits /// "HOUSE OF JEALOUS LOVERS" - Rapture

I first discovered "Funky Dame" thanks to the ultra-eclectic nosnobsallowed.tv. And it is funky indeed. Somehow its grittiness and its danceability reminded me of Rapture's epic "House of Jealous Lovers" famous for reinventing disco punk almost a whole decade ago... Those two gems sound deliciously good put next to another.

AMY WINEHOUSE 14 September 1983 – 23 July 2011 - R.I.P.

Words cannot express the sadness... Amy was the brightest vocal talent in the history of all English female artists... There would be no Duffy, there would be no Adele, there would be no Jessie J or many others... 2 phenomenal albums, instant goosebumps causing voice, originality, uniqueness and stage charisma... R.I.P. Amy...

SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS: "Dein Schweiss" - Sven Väth

"Dein Schweiss" pre-millenium single from Sven Väth, one of German pioneers of techno, was one of my tunes of the year back in 1999. On a heavy rotation on Viva Zwei, my back then first source of new sounds, it gripped me instantly both musically with its harsh 'decadent electro' production and visually with its icicle cold shots.

SHREM'S GUILTIEST OF PLEASURES... VOL. 24: "LOVE WILL SAVE THE DAY" - Whitney Houston

Yes I've had this old Whitney gem on the loop the whole day. The year was 1987 and Houston was at her peak of conquering r'n'b and pop charts all over the globe... Gone are the days... Let's sing along you know you want to... "Sometimes life can make you crazy, it can really put your body to the test"...

CHOON OF THE DAY: "PAINTED EYES" - Hercules & Love Affair + Wolfram Remix

The first time I listened to Hercules & Love Affair's "Blue Songs", the opening "Painted Eyes" sounded like the strongest song on the entire album. The single's been available for quite some time at this stage but now we finally have the video directed by Untitled Associates too... As a bonus there's a remix by Austrian Italo disco re-inventor Wolfram who is simply returning the favour after Andy Butler & co featured on his "Fireworks" a few months ago...

So Yelle's next single is out and it comes with dancefloor action packed bunch of fresh remixes. Those two below by Madeon and Logo seem to be the tastiest ones at first glance. Le French Touch at its freshest!

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "EYES BE CLOSED" - Washed Out /// "FAST CHALLENGES" - Chad Valley

There's a brand new video for Washed Out's first official single from his upcoming and fashionably long anticipated debut album "Within and Without". I've posted previous video for "Eyes Be Closed" already but since it's such a mesmerising piece of music why not listen to it again? Speaking of mesmerising music I've only recently discovered Chad Valley's alluring "Fast Challenges" thanks to disco naïveté's terrific mixtape. Those two tunes go really nicely side by side.

LA MURPHY SAGA CONTINUES: "Cherry Picking" with Toddla T

Delighted with this funky new piece featuring my favourite of all vocalists Róisín Murphy. You can find this urban number on Toddla T's latest album. Killer melody, fresh production and yes those fantastic vocals... The track is on repeat over and over and over again here...

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "LIVING IT OUT" by Planningtorock

There's something ominous about this track. No wonder The Knife invited Planningtorock to collaborate with them on their avant-garde electro opera "Tomorrow, in a year". I have only discovered "Living it out" yesterday and I am completely hooked by its hypnotic beat, exquisite melody and almost shamanic vibe.

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "CUZ I KNOW" - Digikid84 /// "LUCKY STAR (Digikid84 Remix)" - Madonna

The sound of the future 80's! French touch wonder child DigiKid84, his new delicious dancefloor stomper and his fresh take on Madonna's classic "Lucky Star"... This is sooo me...

10 ACTS NOT TO BE MISSED AT LOVEBOX ON SUNDAY (OUT & OUT FIERCE)

So the sunday line-up at this year's Lovebox in Victoria Park, London is some sort of a phenomena in my books. When I scanned through it first a few weeks ago, slightly in disbelief and hyped up to the max, I booked my flight to London, ticket to the festival and accomodation all in less than half hour... Now the day is just around the corner so I thought it'd be nice to share with you all who might very possibly be my highlights of the out & out fierce edition of Lovebox... I arranged it all neatly in a top 10 (surprise surprise!) as I'm sure you know by now how fond I am of list making :-)

10. VILLA - Mysterious belgian trio that stole my heart with their "Diva Edits" a while back. 09. PEACHES - "I feel cream" thinking of seeing Peaches live for the first time even if it's just a dj set I'm sure it'll be a set like no other!
08. THE JUAN MACLEAN - always standing in the shadow of the mighty James-LCD Soundsystem-Murphy, Maclean is in fact my personal biggest hero from the DFA label, really hope I can count on "Crush The Liberation" and "Happy House"

07. TENSNAKE - bringing back the 1990's big style, needless to say "Coma Cat" will be one of the biggest Lovebox anthems that weekend:

TENSNAKE - Coma Cat (Radio Edit) by onelovemusic

06. KELIS - really hope she does "Emancipate" and that flamboyant mash-up of "Milkshake" and La Ciccone's "Holiday" that has recently became
la spécialité during her gigs...
05. SHIT ROBOT - I have just realised with a bit of luck both The Juan Maclean and Shit Robot might be joined on stage by wonderful Nancy Whang as she graced tracks by both artists with her cool vocals...

04. HARD TON - this should be an ultra-camp feast of glitter and fabulousness, newly crowned Italo disco queen Hard Ton aka "Dis-Grace Jones" was my number one favourite new act in 2010, dying to see him perform both his own nu disco gems as well as some of the tunes he flawlessly featured on (for Heels of Love, Ajello, Stefano e bene, The Barking Dogs among others)

03. BETH DITTO - as long as she does the whole EP she has recorded with Simian Mobile Disco earlier on this year, I will be in sonic heaven. Visually I'll be in heaven too as Miss Ditto is one of my fashion icons and a fierce performer. Really curious to see what trick has she up her sleeve during her solo performance... Being able to admire "I wrote the book" will be something else as the song still stands out as my favourite track so far in 2011...

I Wrote The Book by Beth Ditto

02. ROBYN - super-energetic, unstoppable, ridiculously hot and indestructible... Natural born performer. Watching Robyn live is just a festival on its own!

01. AZARI & III - Dinamo Azari, Alixander III, Starving Yet Full, Fritz Helder - 4 canadians who rescued the good name of house music, released "Reckless (With Your Love)" the best song in 2010 in my humble opinion (along with 4 other spectacular singles), remixed tracks by Robyn, Cut Copy, Friendly Fires (sometimes scoring better results than the original artists) and are about to release their long anticipated self-titled debut album which might potentially end up being the album of the year... For all those reasons and more this is the act I'm mostly excited about seeing at Lovebox this year! Here's their latest single - "Manic" - pure genius!
