CHOON OF THE DAY: "WORDY RAPPINGHOOD" - Uffie feat. Dj Mehdi

Uffie and Dj-113-Mehdi team up to cover one of the greatest singles of the 1980's by Tom Tom Club. A delightful collaboration!

CHOON OF THE DAY: "NIGHT OR DAY" - Cubic Zirconia feat. Bilal

Cubic Zirconia has just graced us with 5th phenomenal outing in a row!!! How talented are these guys? Certainly right up there among the most creative, the freshest and most predictable artists out there these days. As "Josephine" remains their most groundbreaking tune to date, "Night or Day" might just be the most sublime effort yet. Along with Gus Gus' "Arabian Horse" my most anticipated album this year... Tiombe Lockheart is mesmerising!

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "MindKilla" by Gang Gang Dance

I've always been waiting impatiently for any new tracks by Gang Gang Dance since their breakthrough single "House Jam" back in 2008. This brand new tune "MindKilla" reminds me a bit of The Knife's early stuff. I adore artists who manage to remain unique and creative without falling for any artistic compromises. What a spectacular song or rather a sonic adventure I should say!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "Fantasy" - Breakbot feat. Ruckazoid

Monsieur Thibaut Berland aka Breakbot has a very solid spot among my favourite producers and djs, remaining one of the most prolific ambassadors of French dance scene out there. This year marks a whole decade since Daft Punk's last decent single so it's about time someone takes over the French Touch scene by storm. The guy seems to be having such a good time mashing up funk, electro, house with a good dosage of 1980's vibes. Anything he (French) touches turns to musical gold. Put on your dancing shoes and dance, dance with me cause life's a fantasy!

CHOON OF THE DAY: "LOSING MY PATIENCE" - Shit Robot feat. Alexis Taylor + Hot Chip remix

Shit Robot's excellent collaboration with Hot Chip's leader Alexis Taylor finally gets the attention it deserves with this amusing video and a bunch of fresh remixes by Hot Chip themselves among others. As good as "TAKE 'EM UP".

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "NUMB3RS IN ACTION" - Wil3y

This must be one of the most original and most impressive promo videos released in 2011 so far...

SHREM'S WORLDLY DELIGHTS: "YA RAYAH يا الرايح" - Dahmane El Harrachi دحمان الحرّاشي

One of the most cult Arabic songs in the history "Ya Rayah" was initially released by the Algerian chaabi singer Dahmane El Harrachi back in the 1970's. It's been much loved and re-interpreted all over the globe since. Here's the enchanting original recording that always gives me goosebumps. Timeless!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: ELEVATE - Finesse

I have totally fallen in love with this sublime piece of House music. It's elegant, slickly produced, sexy and sooo fresh. Shrem's brand new favourite dancefloor moment and my current number 1 most played track! Finesse - what an accurate name!

SHREM'S FUTURE ANTHEMS: "Prisoner Of Love" - Jessica 6 feat. Antony Hegarty

Thanks to the wonderful fellow-bloggers @ HardCandyMusic we get to discover another pure gem by Nomi Ruiz & co aka Jessica 6, this time with an exquisite guest appearance by Antony Hegarty! Those flirtatious moments between Mr Hegarty and disco are quite rare but always breathtaking, remember "Blind" with Hercules & Love Affair? Well this is as catchy (if not catchier!) as "Blind" and "White Horse"! Delighted to be living in the disco revival era!!! S U M M E R A N T H E M A L E R T !!!

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "(A)GAIN" - Def Sound /// "AGAIN & AGAIN" - The Bird and The Bee

This time the connection is pretty obvious. I still love The Bird and The Bee's debut album as much as I adore Def Sound's collection of shoes in this vibrant video directed by Adam Tillman.

SHREM'S GUILTIEST OF PLEASURES... VOL. 20: "WALKING ON MUSIC" - Peter Jacques Band + Beat Mass Edit

CHOON OF THE DAY: "UNSPOKEN" - Pacific! feat. El Perro Del Mar + Anoraak Remix

How about two talented Swedish acts teaming up together? Here's a wonderfully ethereal collaboration between Gothenburg lo-fi darlings El Perro Del Mar and electro boys from Pacific! that stole my heart once already with their catchy "Hot Lips". And as a dessert we get a rather delicious remix treatment by Anoraak. Magical!

SHREM'S DOUBLE TROUBLE: "WHY TELL ME WHY?" - Anita Meyer /// "ANITA (VILLA EDIT)" - Villa

The summertime and the living is easy listening! First the wonderfully tacky Anita Meyer and her Dutch Number 1 from 1981... And then a bit of "balearic lushness" courtesy of Belgian act Villa who re-edited the tune to be the ultimate summer anthem. One of the top tunes on my favourite Murat Gayretli's (aka Porneon) playlist. Fabulousness!

SHREM'S BIGGIES BUT GOODIES BASKET: "BOADICEA" - Mason Feat. Róisín Murphy [THE VIDEO PREMIERE]

Been praising this song for a good few months at this stage... Now we finally get to see the official video. What can I say... I would have loved to see Miss Murphy herself featuring in it instead but hey let's not be too fussy... Check out the whole bunch of delicious remixes available HERE!

SHREM'S LATE MONDAY NIGHT SESSIONS... "YOU SAY I" - Filewile

Daniel Jakob & Andreas Ryser aka Filewile are simply the best thing that happened to Swiss music scene since Yello. Serving a unique and ultra-eclectic blend of electronica, pop, funk & nu-jazz with here an exotic pinch of chinese (!) instruments and P-Funk, they truly are an inspiration!

You Say I (Original Version) by mouthwateringrecords

SHREM'S INSTITUTE OF LOST CLASSICS: "ELEPHANT BOX" - Ingrid Chavez

Prince was responsible for writing and producing so many precious little songs that he generously donated to many talented ladies back in the day... Sheila E, Sheena Easton, Monie Love, Martika, Lois Lane to name just a few lucky ones... And then there's also this smashing single by the enigmatic Ingrid Chavez who was behind Madonna's "Justify My Love"... Still as hypnotic as back in 1991...

SHREM'S CLUB BIZARRE INTRODUCING "BELIEVE" by Gus Gus

This was one of the very first singles by the amazing Gus Gus. I thought it'd be a great idea to remind ourselves how it all began while we're waiting for their 7th studio album "Arabian Horse" dropping at the end of May.
